From Melanie - lost nearly 70 pounds in just under 6 months!
“I had always struggled a little with my weight. I always seemed to carry that extra 20 pounds or so. I’d lose it here and there with a new fad diet, only to see it return in a rather timely matter. It was though, after giving birth that I was in real trouble. I kept the weight on. All of it. I felt ashamed, embarrassed that I let the situation get so out of control…but most of all I felt hopeless.
I knew I did not want to feel this way anymore, inside or out. I walked in to the gym one day, not knowing much - only that I needed help. I look back at what was what I can only refer to as a life changing moment. I was paired with Forest Vance for some personal training sessions and from the first moment light bulbs went off. I thought I had decent knowledge in the fitness department. I was just lacking the drive. My perception of true fitness like myself needed a makeover.
Forest helped develop a plan to reach my goals. I went in with the hopes of shedding 50 pounds of fat and gaining some muscle. Forest tailored a menu (I say menu as this was not a diet but a new way of life) to my specific needs and a workout plan. I felt like I never truly “got it” until I met Forest.
The inspiration that Forest exerts is completely contagious. The light bulbs were going of left and right, just about as quickly as the weight. I am happy to say that I have never felt better. The energy that has come from these simple changes has been like nothing I ever imagined. I truly feel as though I finally get it!
This new way of life, the knowledge and understanding of food and it effects are tools that I will carry with me always. It is a choice everyday to stay active and make the right decisions when it comes to food. The difference is now I control the food, it does not control me. I look forward to getting active everyday. I do things now that I never thought I would or most of all could. I am proud of how far I have come. I cared enough about myself to make the changes. It took serious dedication and hard work. I don’t think I would have gotten this far without that initial push. Happy to say I found what I was looking for and more.
From late September 2008 to the middle of February I lost 68 pounds. I have had over 15 people not know it was me they were talking recently. I think that says a lot. This has been the best thing for my health and happiness. I decided to stop the excuses and start caring. Let today be the day you care enough. Just do it!”
